READ MALAYSIA, THE BOOK FAIR FOR ALL MALAYSIANS, MAKES ITS DEBUT THIS COMING SCHOOL HOLIDAY!

          Kuala Lumpur, 15th May 2009- The inaugural READ MALAYSIA, International Book Fair, which will be launch and officiated by Deputy Minister of Education Datuk Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong will see this mega book fair being held at the Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) opens with the largest collection of books in different languages which will include Malay, Chinese, Tamil and English books on this coming school holiday from 29 May to 7 June 2009, 11am to 10pm daily.

READ MALAYSIA 2009 to-date has achieved a record of 500 booths leased occupying over 12,500 square meter of exhibition area, with more than 150 local and international exhibitors participating.

There are six main zones that have been planned namely the General Books Section, Kid’s Corner, Education, Stationery, Comic and Electronic/ Multimedia pavilion that will surely enrich this exhibition.

READ MALAYSIA 2009 also serves as a platform to promote and to establish partnership between local and regional publishers and distributors.

A series of activities such as the launching of new books, talks, forums, guest appearances by famous authors and student activities will be held throughout the 10 days event to equip public with the most-up-to-date information. Amongst the highlight of authors and celebrities include appearance of Laurence J Brahm from United States who is a international crisis mediator, Joey Yap "the Feng Shui’s Master", Mohana Gill the author of books" Fruitastic! Vegemania and Fruitastic! Malaysia", Lydia The, the author of " Honk", Azizi Ali, the famous financial author, Chia Joo Suan, Yap Meng Hui, Irfan Khairy, Datuk Dr. Fadzilah Kamsah and Dr.Tengku Asmadi whom are the local motivator expert, Aa Gym and Wisnu Sasangko from Indonesia and the all time favourite Upin & Ipin will be the climax of the events.

Apart from that, Chinese speakers from Taiwan will be participating in Read Malaysia to share their experts on education, health, food, fashion, new book launching and they are Professor Hong Lan, Dr.Yong and Xing Xuan.

Amongst the educational activities which will be organise at READ MALAYSIA include the Meet & Greet the Authors and Celebrities session, Autograph Session, Story-telling, Photography, Essay Writing and Drawing & Colouring Competition. We anticipate more than 400,000 visitors will visit READ MALAYSIA.

In order to ensure a hassle free visit to READ MALAYSIA, the organiser has also chartered free shuttle bus services available daily during the READ MALAYSIA. Visitors will be able to commute from Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT Station and Serdang KTM Station to the MIECC easily. The shuttle service includes a return journey as well. In addition, it is free to visit READ MALAYSIA.
